About Me
Hi!
I’m Dr. Bertram Schädle. Originally from the Allgäu region, I’ve lived and worked in the wild west of Tübingen since 1994. I’m an anaesthetist and have spent many years working in hospitals and as an emergency physician. That gives me an insider’s understanding of healthcare photography and the people involved.
Since 2007.
I’ve been photographing people, brands, products and businesses professionally since 2007, focusing on corporate, advertising and healthcare photography. Quite a body of work has accumulated. What you see here is only the tip of the iceberg. The rest is still underwater.
No Standards.
Everyone is different, so I don’t use one standard lighting setup for business portraits. Lighting, perspective and styling are tailored to the person, the desired result and, where relevant, the company’s identity. I want everyone to feel comfortable in front of the camera, including people who usually dislike having their photo taken. Calm, humour and empathy help. The best images emerge when nobody has to pretend.
Clear Agreements.
A good shoot begins well before the first frame. Open communication with clients and agencies, realistic schedules and clear decisions save time and misunderstandings. Reliability matters too: agreements, deadlines and delivery dates are taken seriously. Good collaboration is built on both results and trust.
Close to Result.
My aim is to get as close to the final image as possible during the shoot. When lighting, composition and perspective are right, less time-consuming retouching is needed. Clients are involved in the editing decisions, particularly with portraits: people should look good while still looking like themselves.
Photo first. AI second.
There are no AI-generated people or fake product shots here. The people and products on this website were really photographed. I use AI for retouching, image optimisation and sometimes new backgrounds. The best results combine real photography, craftsmanship and modern tools. Every picture starts with a camera, not a prompt.
Teamwork rulez.
I plan carefully while keeping room for spontaneous ideas. Larger productions need a team, so I bring together experienced freelance assistants, digital operators, make-up artists, fashion and food stylists and other specialists as needed. A straightforward working relationship and good atmosphere matter just as much as the results.
